Where is The Drunken Munkey located?
+
The Drunken Munkey is at 338 East 92nd Street, between First and Second Avenues on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, New York, NY 10128.
What are your hours?
+
We’re open Monday to Thursday 4:00 pm–12:00 am, Friday 4:00 pm–1:00 am, Saturday 11:00 am–1:00 am, and Sunday 11:00 am–12:00 am. The kitchen closes one hour before we close.
What’s the closest subway?
+
The Q at 96th Street–Second Avenue is about a five-minute walk; its 94th Street entrance is the closest one to us. The 6 at 96th and Lexington is roughly ten minutes.
Is there parking nearby?
+
Metered street parking is easier to find on First Avenue than on Second, and you can pay the meter through
ParkNYC. For a garage,
ParkWhiz will show you what’s nearby and let you reserve a spot before you set out.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
+
Yes, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Mention it when you book and we’ll hold a table that’s easy to get to.
Do you have outdoor seating?
+
Yes, and you can choose outdoor seating when you
book on Resy. It depends on the weather, of course; if the evening turns we’ll find you a table inside.
Is there a dress code?
+
Dress as you like, with a few exceptions: team jerseys and sports headwear, gym clothes, sleeveless shirts, sweatpants, and slides or flip-flops are too casual for the dining room. The room is part of the meal here, and our team turns out for it too. If you’re coming from the gym or the game, change first.
Are kids welcome?
+
Children are welcome, and we have high chairs — note it in your reservation and one will be waiting. Do count the children in your headcount: if six of you are coming, book for six, small ones included. Our tables don’t stretch, and arriving a seat short is nobody’s idea of a good evening. Weekend brunch is the easiest time to bring them; by evening the room is candlelit and grown-up.
What are the movies playing in the dining room?
+
Old-school movies, always with the sound off. It doesn’t get more Old Bombay than that. A silent film also makes an excellent dinner guest: it never interrupts, and nobody has to agree on the plot.
Is The Drunken Munkey good for date night?
+
Yes, it’s excellent for date night. The dining room is candlelit and built for a long dinner, so ask for Table 2 when you book. Note the occasion on your reservation and we’ll make it special.
